Michael L. Strauss, AG is an Accredited Genealogist for the Eastern States Region with the International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists. A native of Pennsylvania and a resident of Virginia. He has been an avid genealogist for more than 30 years. Strauss holds a BA in History and is a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. He has worked with the Coast Guard Station Museum in Virginia Beach, VA as a research archivist.

· Qualified Expert Witness in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

· Vice President-Virginia Beach Genealogical Society-Virginia Beach, VA. Former Trustee.

· Research Grant-Foundation for Coast Guard History-Seattle, WA-2005-Thesis “Confederate Pirates In Maine: The Capture and Destruction of the Revenue Cutter Caleb Cushing”

· Author of several articles published in the Ancestry Magazine, First Landing Magazine.

· Faculty member–Brigham Young University, Provo, UT-2000, 2004 (Annual Conference)

· Faculty member–Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research, Samford University, Birmingham, AL

· Research Scholarship-The George C. Marshall Foundation-Lexington, VA-2006-2nd Place Research Paper: George C. Marshall; Tenure with the Civilian Conversation Corps 1933-1934.
